Knotted Rope Canyon.

Yet another post about another canyon.. what can I say, I love them. Except I did not love this one.
Knotted Rope Canyon is located in the San Rafael Swell area which is near Goblin Valley which is in the middle of freakin' no where. I drove up to Goblin Valley from St. George and everyone else drove down from Provo. We met up about 11:00 at night and set up camp. The stars were absolutely AMAZING! I saw countless shooting stars, the milky way, and so much more. I was so amazed by the sky that it was hard for me to sleep. But I managed to catch a few hours of sleep. The sleeping order was Jake (a.k.a. Jake the Snake), Braden (a.k.a. B-rad), Me, and Chad. Jake was out instantly when he layed down and was asleep pretty much the whole time. Braden and I chatted for a little bit and he was kind enough to share his unzipped sleeping bag with me because mine wasn't quite doing the job and he wasn't really using his and Chad was just looking at the stars all night and he would steal my glasses to do so. Logan and Adam set up camp a little further away not so close to the cars. It has been one of my most memorable nights though even with the lack of sleep.

We finally all got changed and ready for the canyon and headed off in the 2 red cars.. Braden, Jake, and I followed everyone else and we had no idea what was going on. We thought the canyon was nice and close and it would be easy to get too...well we were wrong. About 2 hours later we made it to the canyon entrance. It was blazing hot and the hike was so steep. I was pansy and started to get sick on the hike up. And I am pretty sure I was sweating more than any of the boys were.. so gross.

Jake taking a nap while we wait for Chad to go and find my camera that he set down somewhere along the hike. Thankfully, he found it!
This is me, always needing help.

Slimy pool of who knows what and we took turns jumping in. Well Chad jumped in, and as you see below I scooted down while Braden yelled, "Get your a** in the water!" It made me laugh so hard.

HOT! Nice back muscles, he isn't even flexing right here ;). And I just love my facial expression in this one.

Piggy back ride across :)

We FINALLY made it out of the canyon, and played on these sand dunes for a minute and then continued our long, never-ending hike out.
This canyon was not my favorite, if i was taller I think I would have liked it more. There were definitely fun things throughout the canyon. Pothole after pothole after pothole after pothole...etc. I had a hard time getting through some obstacles because #1: I'm short and #2: I don't have any rock climbing skills which would have come in handy. But with the help of my wonderful friends I was able to make it out. On the hike out we were able to follow the river for a couple of miles and ran into a closed down mine and also an old miners house. So that was neat to explore, but by that time I was ready to be done. I was so done with the canyon that instead of camping through Monday and doing another canyon (which was the original plan for me, Logan, and Chad) I chose to leave and just go to Provo instead. So everyone left that night, and we stopped in Price to get us some food at the Wendy's. All of us were exhausted and decided we needed a short nap before we got on the road again so we layed down our seats and slept...slept all night long. Best sleep I've ever had in a car :)
