Neon Canyon

Weekend Trip to Egypt, Escalante, Utah! (Who knew of such a place?!) Friday morning Chad, Neil, Logan, Sam, Ashley and I woke up in the parking lot of Escalante High School and decided to get everything together to head to this canyon. After about an hour on a dirt road and six people squished in a Honda CR-V we finally made it! We geared up and started our hike to the canyon...6 miles later in the hot sun, nats, and horse flys we finally made it to the entrance of the canyon. I was so excited to start, put on my wet suit and I have never been so excited to get wet in a canyon but I knew it would feel amazing.. and it did!!! The canyon was really diverse and so much fun, we got to rappel into water and make our way through hundreds of huge spiders (Yikes!) and then finally the last rappel called Golden Cathedral was beautiful. No pictures of this rappel though because the camera got lost in the bottom of the pool of water at the bottom. Bummer :(, but it was such a fun experience, and definately worth the 12 mile hike!
