Europe 2010

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to backpack Europe for 21 days with a group of friends. When i say backpack i literally mean backpack. We all had the large packs on, camped every night except in Paris I was able to experience hostels and while in Germany we got to stay with few friends. I loved every second of it! Going over there was a culture shock and I was even warned about it, but it was so good. I love the food over there. YUM! and the European clothing style. The group I went with consisted of 5 friends..Matt Seely, Jim Seely (meow!), Chad Roberts, Logan Havens, and Liesl Marshall. I couldn't have gone with a better group, all of us are pretty easy going most of the time so we just worked together which is good since we were together 24/7. We visited 8 countries; Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Vatican, and Switzerland. All are amazing in their own way, but if I would go back to Italy, Switzerland, and Germany, and Spain in a heartbeat! So here are a few pics and a little preview of my trip!

The bathrooms cost $$$$$! I couldn't believe it.. I was worried all my money would go to paying to use the bathroom because I usually use it often!
Roman ruins in Trier, Germany. Notice the rain gear? I soon learned that in Germany rain gear is essential!!
There is grafiti everywhere! It looks so awesome, this is just a small preview of it.
"How happy are you to be in Europe?" Our smiles show how happy we are.. :) :) :)
Rain Gear again! This is the Disneyland Castle but you can't see it because of the clouds!
Belgium Waffles in Belgium! Waffles do not get any better!!!!!!! It was the most delicious waffle I have EVER had!

Normandy.
Port Bou, Spain!!!
Warrior Meg!

The boys thought it was okay to wear speedos.. I disagree, but they had on more clothing then almost everyone at the beach. Nude beaches are a great laugh!
Nap Time!
Here is a story.. notice how all of our stuff is dumped out. Well the idiot Americans that we are decided to sleep on the beach in Spain and we got robbed! So this is after we woke up and found our stuff and they went through everything. But I don't regret sleeping on the beach because it was such a good sleep!
Barcelona Baby!

Madrid, Spain Airport
Sleepy time at the airport.. we learned to be able to sleep pretty much anywhere even on hard tile!
Trevi Fountain.. Rome, Italy

I love gelato!! I could not get enough of it! Yummy yummy!

Venice, Italy
Switzerland!! The most beautiful place I have ever seen!! I believe this was Day 5 without a shower for all of us.. YUCK!

Our last night together as a group was in Switzerland then the next day we split off. Chad, Liesl, and I caught a flight in Frankfurt, Germany to come home while the other three continued the journey to Lithuania!

  1. Look like you guys had lots of fun! That is so funny about the bathrooms. When my in laws went to pick my husband up from his mission in Germany my sister in law was pregnant so I am sure they felt the same way about using all their money on the bathrooms. Its funny that you have to pay for them.
