Oh yeah.. also while I was going down and i was just about to the bottom of the last rappel my hair got stuck in the rappel device. aaah!! Jimmy had to push me up and hold me while i tried to get my hair out but i just wasn't strong enough so Jimmy was holding me up while trying to pull my hair out and it just wasn't working. I thought FOR SURE Jimmy was going to have to pull out his knife and cut my hair out, but we were able to unhook device and yank my hair out of it and gratefully i didn't have to cut any off because It would have been a large chunk of hair and really SHORT! Which i would have ended up with a pixie cut and that is just not meant for me.

Boltergiest Canyon....at night!
What a way to start off spring break by doing a night canyon! Which every time I have done a night canyon we always run into some extra problems. (which this is only my 2nd night canyon..) So we start driving on the dirt road to the canyon which we have driven on this road A LOT and there are black cows sitting on the side of the road that we almost hit(never seen cows on the road before) and then we check the gas tank once we get to our destination and it's on empty.. great..... 2 signs that all of us should have taken as maybe this isn't a good idea. That didn't stop this crew though. Tonight's crew consisted of me, Chad, Jim, Matt, and Russel. We get all geared up and head down into the canyon. The first rappel there is some water at the bottom so we had to switch our way of getting down a little bit, Thanks to Jimmy guiding my feet and Matt's; and Russell catching us so we didn't slide down the rock. I'm going to skip through all the small adventures in the canyon and we get too one of the last rappels. There is tons of water at the bottom.. which I made all the boys do this canyon because it's always been dry and I didn't feel like swimming, but thankfully we didn't have too because of the muscle of Jim and Russel we and this way of setting up the ropes that i have no idea how to explain we made it across DRY! Then comes the last rappe which is my favorite one because it is just long and fun. Chad said to me, "make sure you tell Jimmy you want to go all the way down" and i said "ok I will for sure" So i am the first to go down after jimmy and I get to the bottom and think, " sweet Jimmy went all the way down so I don't have to remind him." So then Russel goes, then Matt, and then chad. Chad gets down and says, "I told you guys to go all the way down." I guess in the dark I happened to get confused at to where I was at. So we all had to hook up again and rappel the last little way. I felt so relieved we just had to hike out now because I was exhausted and cold EXCEPT the boys went to the pull the rope and it wouldn't come. So we are all shining our lights to see where it's twisted and we couldn't really tell. So the men try to untwist it for awhile and realize that won't do the job. So then Chaddy, the amazing climber he is decides to climb the rope all the way to the top because it got twisted at the very top and stuck in a rivet. While chad did this and Jimmy helped him. Matt, Russel, and I built a fire. It felt so nice to have heat, and the fire started right up! Which that just never happens. After all this fun though we finally were able to hike out which this hike out is one of my favorite hikes out of a canyon because I feel like I'm walking through a meadow and it's short! We make it to the car and hope we don't run of gas. Thankfully we made it home! But not until 6 in the morning!!! Holy smokes i couldn't believe it was 6 and I had to leave to go up to Roy at 7. So needless to say I had a short nap on my way home!
